book), which had been circulated to the Panel before the meeting.
Following questions Members heard:
· More work continued to be done with licensing Authorities and the Panel heard how Uber vehicles could currently drop-off anywhere due to operating online and being registered centrally
· A list of organisations as part of the UKPAC initiative would be provided to the Panel for information to help encourage smaller and independent businesses to participate.
· Protests that had taken place relating to immigration and the housing of asylum seekers had been mostly peaceful and lawful, in part due to the positive relationships built up between protestors and local police. Whilst some public had felt that that police had come across as too laid back, it was acknowledged that there would be benefit to better explain the reasoning and importance of situations remaining calm.
· E-scooters continued to be a problem with there being a lack of education as to their use, but it was agreed that this was a wider issue and not one that eh constabulary alone could fix.
· Specific incidents around police response to incidents would be looked further at following the meeting.
The Police and Crime Commissioner was thanked for her announcements and for answering questions from the Panel.

- Document Presentation 18 Jul 2025
It was agreed that meaningful, funded rehabilitation was key to reducing retail crime , particularly as sentences less than 12 months were discouraged. As the UKPAC (UK Partners Against Crime) continued to be rolled-out, it was anticipated that this would have a positive affect in reducing retail crime levels and all businesses were welcome. It was agreed that members would be provided with a list of those that had signed-up to the scheme to help encourage more local, indidepedent businesses to do the same.
Whilst many offenders were under the age of 18, this was an area that was being taken more seriously and focused upon.
The Commissioner and Constabulary were thanked for their work and a positive HMIC report.
